This song has so much Godly truth in it! God knows us and understands us. He knows where we've been hurt and have trouble trusting. He knows how easily we can change, but He is un-changing. He's constant. He is always waiting for us and calling us to Him. He's always desirous of us and wants us to be with Him and near Him. He'll go anywhere we are to get to us, like the shepherd who leaves the rest of the flock to find the one lamb that's gotten lost. He's very patient with us, because He know that that's how He has to be for us to know we're secure with Him.

God is willing, and wants us to know Him - to know who His is and what He's about. He wants a relationship with us, to His glory and praise. And He'll reveal Himself to us, slowly at times if that's all we can handle, or quickly if its necessary. He's in control, and all we have to do is be willing to let Him be our God. We have free will, and the only thing we need to do is accept His free offer of a saving relationship with Him. It doesn't mean that everything's automatically going to be ok. Just like the girl in the song, we'll carry our baggage with us as well. Its a complicated world where anything could happen, but God promises to always be there with us through anything. He delights in blessing us, but also delights in us growing to know Him. sometimes that means suffering, as we are a stubborn race that sometimes refuses to grow any other way. But, with Him we won't lose ourselves. We'll find ourselves, our real selves, the people we were designed from the beginning to be. Chalk another one up to Country Music!
