Easy Halloween Treats
So, I was all excited this year to try to make some easy Halloween treats for people, but I'm not really going to anything that would warrent them. On Friday night, I'm going to a Halloween house party with some friends, but they're not really friends of mine. Since no one else is bringing food, I think it would be weird if I did. (Laura = always conscious and/or wary of social rules) Then on Saturday I have a costume concert to go to - defenatly can't bring food. Sunday I have church, and Monday I have another party to go to. However, this one is hosted by friends of mine. I still have to call them, but the possibility may still exist.
Anyway, here are the recipies in case anyone else needs to make something super cute, super fast.
"Jack-o'-Lanterns"

Ingredients
Clean scissors
Hostess Sno-Balls cupcakes (orange variety—available only at Halloween time)
Tootsie Flavor Roll Twists candies (lime flavored)
Directions
1. Using clean scissors, cut jack-o-lantern features into the coconut-marshmallow layer covering the Sno-Ball.
2. Heat the lime candy roll for 5 seconds in a microwave. Roll it in your hands to form a stem.
3. Cut a hole in the top of the pumpkin and push the stem in place.
"Tombstone Brownies"

Ingredients
One of two packages of brownie mix
Aluminum foil
Powdered sugar
Unsweetened cocoa powder
Canned vanilla and chocolate icing
Purple and black food coloring
Sealable plastic bags
Directions
1. Line an 8x8x2-inch and a 9x13x2-inch pan with foil. Prepare each brownie mix according to package directions and bake one mix in each pan following directions. Cool in pans. Use edges of foil to lift and transfer brownies to a cutting board. Remove foil. From the 9x13-inch brownie, cut 1-1/2x3-inch rectangles for tombstones. Trim the top corners off of some of the rectangles.
2. Combine powdered sugar and a little cocoa powder and sprinkle mixture over the tombstones. Tint small amounts of vanilla icing with black and purple food coloring paste. Place each tinted icing into a sealable plastic bag. Snip a tiny hole in one corner of each bag and squeeze the icing to decorate the tombstones, referring to the photo for suggestions. Lightly sprinkle tombstones again with the powdered sugar and cocoa mixture.
Enjoy!

I got to make the cemetary brownies last night! They didn't look as pretty, but they were very tasty.
