The Height Of Insanity
Last weekend, my friend Anna and I headed over to the Hammil, MN. I know what you're thinking: heading over to rural, backwoods Minnesota is pretty crazy in and of itself. But that's not the half of it. We decided to throw on some big hats and even bigger belt buckles and hit the Hammil Rodeo. $4 cans of beers + 1,500 pounds of horned mussle - what could go wrong??

So, let me paint this picture for you. There are people in this world who travel around to small towns all over this country to compete night after night in these little, county rodeos. Aparently they earn enough to make a living doing this. Personally, it's my belief that you need to be half-way to the looney bin to sit up one day and decide to do this. Here's why:
Some cowboys decide to go with the bucking bronco option. Here's a typical day at the office looks like for them:
Ouch - that's just got to hurt. Here's another example, this time on a BULL:
That guy got off pretty easy. At one point, one of the bulls decided to toss a guy five feet into the air with his HORNS. But hey, that's why they make the big bucks.
But cheer up - for those not interested in being trampled by horses or gorged by bulls, you could always join the rodeo and take on the dreaded WALK A LARGE, SLOW BULL THROUGH TIKI TORCHES routine:
Well ok - to be fair this guy did do some more difficult stuff with his bull:
Oh, and one more cool thing - this kid climbed on top of a gigantic dirt heap and began to play:

I thought that was pretty cool. Dang - I lead a storied life!
